From Downtown Main Street to ... the local mall?! Moscow Contemporary came to us with a mission: help them get the word out about their big move to the mall. (An art gallery moving into a mall, really?) Yes. Really! An announcement like this needed a playful approach, something that brought together traditional ideas of what a gallery is and how different MosCo has always been. We dove into to free-to-use + public domain artwork from various archives (National Gallery of Art, Library of Congress, The Metropolitan Museum of Art) and remixed them into playful, weird, and fun colleges that celebrated the question: can we be funky, live at the mall, and still make it as an art gallery? (Spoiler: MosCo's success screams––yes!)
